DONOR PRIVACY POLICY

Your privacy is very important to us.

 

As a matter of course, Girls Incorporated of Monroe County does not release donor information outside of the organization.  Members of the Board of Trustees sign a confidentiality statement attesting to the confidentiality of records.  GIRLS INC. will not sell nor otherwise share its mailing lists outside of the organization; including to the National GIRLS INC. headquarters.  GIRLS INC. shall protect personal information regardless of the format in which it is held.

 

How We Collect Your Personal Information

GIRLS INC. collects personal information about you only when you voluntarily provide it. Typically, we will seek consent for the use or disclosure of your personal information at the time of collection. In certain circumstances, we may wish to use your personal information we previously collected for a new purpose (i.e. a purpose that was not stated at the time the information was collected), we will notify you by way of an email or mail and give you the opportunity to opt-out of such new use.

GIRLS INC. collects personal information from you when you make a donation or pledge, request GIRLS INC. materials, register for one of our events, or use some of our web services.

We will not, as a condition of your interaction with GIRLS INC., require you to consent to the collection, use or disclosure of information beyond that required to fulfill the explicitly specified and legitimate purposes for which your information is being provided.

How We Use Your Personal Information

The personal information we collect is used to carry out the transaction you requested or authorized. This may include using your personal information to process your donation, send you the information or materials you requested, register you for one of our events, keep you informed about GIRLS INC., ask for your support and do all the things necessary to develop and maintain our relationship with you and communicate with you.

GIRLS INC. does not rent, trade or sell its donor lists in its ordinary course of business. However, we reserve the right to disclose and/or transfer personal information to a third party in the event of a proposed or actual purchase, sale, lease, merger, amalgamation or any other type of acquisition, disposal or financing of all or any portion of GIRLS INC. or of any of the business or assets or shares of GIRLS INC. or a division thereof in order for you to continue to receive the same services from the third party.

For donations of $50 or more, GIRLS INC. publishes donors’ names in the annual report.  All individual donors with gifts of $50 or more who do not wish to have their name published are asked to indicate their preference on their donation form or contact us by phone at 812-336-7313, or email at info@girlsinc-monroe.org by mail at 1108 West 8th Street Bloomington, IN  47404.

You may withdraw consent or remove yourself from our donor or mailing list at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice by contacting us in the manner described below.

How We Collect And Use Your Non-Personal Information

When you visit our website at www.girlsinc-monroe.org we may collect non-personally identifying information from you. We collect and use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track donors' movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.  We do not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information.

Our website contains links to other websites.  Please be aware that GIRLS INC. is not responsible for the privacy practices of other such websites. We encourage our donors to be aware when they leave our website and to read the privacy policy of every website that collects personally identifiable information.

How We Protect Your Personal Information

GIRLS INC. takes reasonable steps to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and to maintain the accuracy and proper use of the information by means of appropriate physical, technical and organizational measures.  All online transactions and contributions on our website occur through a safe, private, and secure system that protects the individual’s personal information.  All of our employees, volunteers and service providers are required to comply with the terms of this Privacy Policy and are required to keep confidential the information they have access to when performing their duties.  All of our systems are protected by a top quality firewall and all users are required to use a password.

MEMBER PRIVACY POLICY

Your privacy is very important to us.

Personal information is collected by GIRLS INC. for purposes of identification, to evaluate the eligibility and suitability of a potential member to receive services, to permit an analysis of GIRLS INC. services and their efficacy for management purposes and for statutory reports, and to assess or deal with the health and/or safety needs of a member.  GIRLS INC. shall protect personal information regardless of the format in which it is held.

GIRLS INC. will ensure that the above-noted purposes for collecting member personal information are drawn to the attention of the guardian or the member.  Thereafter, GIRLS INC. will collect only the personal information that is necessary for those purposes, unless the member family expressly consents in advance to the collection of his or her personal information for some other specified purpose.

Circumstances might arise where GIRLS INC. wishes to collect or use personal information for a new purpose.  If that occurs, GIRLS INC. will take reasonable steps to ensure that the individual concerned is informed of the new purpose and gives his or her consent to the collection or use of personal information for that purpose.

GIRLS INC. will not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected.   When preparing reports or pursuing granting possibilities, aggregate statistical data will be shared in lieu of individual personal information.
