The Monroe County Youth Council
The Monroe County Youth Council is seeking applications for its Inaugural 2011/2012 program. Youth ages 11 to 19 are encouraged to apply.
Youth Council membership will involve:
- Youth-led community service and civic engagement;
- Youth-led service learning project management; and
- Youth-led advocacy for issues affecting youth in our community.
Youth Council meetings are September to May at the City of Bloomington Common Council Chambers and the Monroe County Public Library – Bloomington Branch.

The Youth Council is currently a partnership of the Monroe County Commissioners and Monroe County Council, City of Bloomington Common Council and City of Bloomington Community and Family Resources Department, Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce Franklin Initiative, Asset Building Coalition of Monroe County, Community Justice & Mediation Center, Edgewood High School, Girls Incorporated of Monroe County, Harmony School, Monroe County Public Library, Stepping Stones. And Youth Services Bureau of Monroe County. Additional countywide partners will be forthcoming.
